Lobaito sets to establish an identity all his own, with such poems as, "Whatever's the Cost for Love I Accept" a romantic villanelle, which he proclaims, "I'll climb a thousand mountains, of a thousand skulls, / Just to reach your fair feet, and kiss your sweet lips!" expressing emotion at its consent. In, "A Painted Emotion" he writes, "Ambition / Has lost her mind / To a drug called knowledge / For the fruits of wisdom / In a dream beyond cypress and sonic ash, / Booming through a field of wild heathers" in a jazz-like state of consciousness.
